Data & Privacy

PowerDeck is local-first: it runs on hardware in your home and your operational data stays there.

What stays on your hardware

  • Live and historical solar, battery, and energy readings
  • Device states, automations, and rules
  • Your dashboard and configuration

We do not run a cloud service that stores your home's data.

What the cloud is used for

A small set of edge services support the product:

Service Purpose
Licence verification Periodic check that your licence is valid (~daily)
Software updates Delivering new versions to your system
Support tools Diagnostics only when you initiate a support session
This knowledge base & community Documentation and discussion

Remote access — only when you ask

PowerDeck does not expose any open ports on your router. Nobody — including us — can reach into your system unless you explicitly start a timed support session from your dashboard. Sessions expire automatically.

Your network

The software connects to your inverter and smart devices over your local network only. Credentials you enter for those devices are stored on your PowerDeck hardware, not in our cloud.
